mental wellness

CaperBase strives to help youth realize their potential through their diverse programs. These programs help to strengthen youth's perception of themselves through self-esteem, self-efficacy, mindfulness, coping skills, exploring their interests, and highlighting their personal strengths.

so...what do those terms mean?

Self-esteem: confidence in one's own worth or abilities, also known as self-respect.
Self-efficacy: one's belief in one's ability to succeed in specific situations or accomplish a task. One's sense of self-efficacy can play a major role in how one approaches goals, tasks, and challenges.
Coping Skills: methods a person uses to deal with stressful situations.
Mindfulness: maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment.

Mindfulness also involves acceptance, meaning that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them—without believing, for instance, that there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to think or feel in a given moment.

To achieve mental wellness, it's important to keep healthy too!
